PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Swinford Garda Station, built in the mid-1980’s, when crime rates etc. were relatively low, required extensive refurbishment and upgrading of its custodial area and prisoner processing facilities, to change it into a modern-day station, capable of dealing with the current challenges faced by our Gardai. Another major element of the refurbishment works involved the upgrading of the complete mechanical services to ensure it is more energy efficient.
Works included:
The station is operational on a full-time basis. Kenaidan Contractors carried out all works while the station was fully functioning. This required careful planning and co-ordination between Kenaidan and the Gardai personnel.
All works were supervised by the OPW Architectural Services and the OPW Project Management Services.
