PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project for Ireland West Airport Knock, Co. Mayo was completed in September 2019. The client, Ireland West Airport Knock, required the refurbishment of one of their properties to provide office, meeting room, gym and welfare facilities to their staff, and in particular members of their maintenance team and fire service.

Works included:

• Demolition of existing internal walls, partitions and ceilings.
• Removal of existing timber stair and concrete landing.
• Installation of structural trimmer steel to allow for the forming of a new opening in a concrete floor.
• Installation of new concrete stairs and landings.
• Erection of new fire-rated partitions and glazed screens.
• New openings were formed in existing external walls to allow for the installation of new windows & doors and a new entrance door was formed within a bespoke curtain walling system.

Ground floor level now offers modern office and meeting room facilities, along with a modern kitchen/tea & coffee station, disabled access and ambulant toilet facilities. On the 1st floor a new gym was provided including specialist flooring and an upgraded ventilation system, along with new changing & shower facilities. There is now ambulant access to the upper floor facilities. The M&E installation included the installation of 2 new gas boilers, a complete heating & ventilation system, general power, lighting and fire alarm.
