About This Project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project commenced in August 2018 and was completed at the end of May 2019. The works consisted of the construction of a 36m pre-cast concrete structure, with in-situ structural concrete screeds poured on each floor and roof level.

In addition to the building works, Kenaidan Contractors Ltd. also managed, facilitated and co-ordinated the installation & commissioning of a further €16,000,000 of bespoke process equipment. Not only were these items large and heavy (the air heater weighed in excess of 54T), the delivery and installation of many of these items meant that works were programmed to the day and carried out over both day and night shifts to ensure that their ‘lifting-in’ met with the construction programme and delays were avoided.

Once all equipment was inside, the building could then be closed by sealing any walls in blockwork before installing the new cleats, cladding rails and Kingspan wall cladding. The roof consisted of a single-ply Trocal membrane laid over a tapered insulation.

Internal finishes were to a food production standard and all installed equipment was finished in stainless steel. Floors were finished in a polyurethane resin with antimicrobial qualities. Likewise, the walls were finished in a 4-part water-based hygenic sealer.

Kenaidan Contractors Ltd. completed all external civil works including the formation and surfacing of the new car park area.
